Welcome

If you are a new visitor and here to find out more about us, that’s great. Of course, this website is designed to cater for existing clients, potential clients, and for those that just want some information. Whatever your reason for visiting we are sure you will find something of interest.

Who are we?

Pascoe Barton (FSP 3172) was established by the directors, Susan Pascoe Barton and Steven Barton, in May 1995. We are one of the few independently owned financial planning and investment advisory businesses operating in New Zealand. We are a privately owned boutique financial planning business specialising in investment advice and portfolio management.

All shares in Pascoe Barton Limited are beneficially owned by interests associated with the directors, Authorised Financial Advisers and Certified Financial Planners, Steven Barton (FSP 32663) and Susan Pascoe Barton (FSP 32382). We have no financial ties to any investment provider. Investments used within portfolios have to stack up on their own merits.

Steven and Susan have been authorised by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), to provide financial advice, discretionary investment management services and financial planning services under Section 55 of the Financial Advisers Act 2008.

While we are based in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, our clients are from throughout New Zealand, especially the Manawatu. Distance is not an obstacle and electronic communication is easy and readily available for most investors.

All our clients are treated as individuals. Our clients only deal with Authorised Financial Advisers who have real world experience.

Second Opinion

If you already invested elsewhere, ask us for a second opinion. It may be that your monies are in a bank term deposit or a call account, or that you have funds placed through another adviser.  A second opinion costs very little, and it may be the best money you will ever spend.

Resources

As we are a privately owned boutique advisory business, we make use of a lot of external resources. We also do our own internal research, so as to minimise the risk of being commercially influenced by product providers. We have developed systems to minimise risk exposures to investment issuers.

We subscribe to or receive research from a number of sources. Included amongst them are: Aon, ASB Securities, Credit Suisse, Farrelly’s, First NZ Capital, Lonsec, Macquarie Securities, Mercers, Morningstar Research, Russell, Standard & Poor's.

We also regularly write newspaper columns. These can be downloaded by RSS Feed.
